Core Operating System Utilities

This section will cover utilities that are part of the FreeBSD layer of Mac OS X that are complimented by MacPorts (Command Line Interface - CLI)

  • USB to Serial Console Connectivity with Kermit This solution covers setting up Kermit with a USB to Serial Dongle for Console Port access to a Cisco device. (this solution can be modified for connectivity to any other device requiring serial access)

Third Party Utilities

Any Third Party Utilities specifically written by third party developers outside of MacPorts or CLI based utilities will be covered here
